CATC - a leader in design education, is located in the historic and beautiful Rocks district of Sydney, and provides the perfect environment for students to explore their creativity and to be educated in the fields of Interior Design, Graphic Design and Multimedia.
CATC was established in 1982, and has developed into a successful design college where students graduate as qualified designers with excellent hands-on, industry relevant skills.
Courses range from Certificate to Advanced Diploma, and CATC students are taught in a studio environment which is conducive to creativity and the design process. The industry has responded to the high standard of work produced at the college, as students have been successful in not only gaining excellent positions upon graduation, but also winning significant prestigious industry competitions and awards.
CATC staff are carefully selected, not only for their passion for design, industry and educational qualifications, but also for their love of teaching and their desire to pass on their knowledge and skills to the future designers of their industry, our students.
The combination of our staffing, courses, location and passion for design education brings out the very best in every one of our students.
Located at the edge of

If you are looking for accommodation when you arrive in Sydney, we can recommend the services of an accommodation provider, backpackers, hostels, homestays, or websites to search for flat-share accommodation.
Sydney has lots of hostels and backpackers which are a great place to start and they may also be able to help you with finding more permanent accommodation.
CATC is a ½ hour ferry ride from Manly, a 45 minute trip on public transport from Bondi, ½ hour from Surry Hills, Paddington, Ultimo or Pyrmont. Shared accommodation can cost between $120 per week to $200 depending on if you live close to the beach or the city, and if you share a room. Generally bills are additional and you provide your own food. You should budget a minimum of $12,000 per year for living expenses (not including tuition). This is the amount recommended by DIAC to cover basic accommodation, food and transport needs.
If you are under the age of 18, you are required to advise CATC of your accommodation, support and general welfare arrangements in order to apply for your student visa, and update CATC with any changes to these arrangements during your course of study.
